These were commonly used on the 3-bar fuel system(2003 & older). After that, they were sometimes used on the 4bar/MPI/and Ford motor, by not across the board, so check your motor if applicable. See below for directions.
Keep your Indmar EFI engine running clean and consistent with the Indmar 556003 inline EFI fuel filter. This is an OEM Indmar marine fuel filter designed for high-pressure EFI systems and built with a stainless wire mesh element to help trap debris before it reaches your fuel rails and injectors. The canister is clearly marked with a fuel flow arrow to support correct installation (tank → engine).

DIY Replacement Overview
- Relieve fuel pressure (disconnect battery; use a rag for drips).
- Locate the filter by following the fuel line from tank/pump toward the engine.
- Remove the old filter carefully and capture residual fuel.
- Install the new filter: lightly oil O-rings, confirm arrow matches fuel flow, tighten fittings.
- Prime & test: key ON to prime, then check thoroughly for leaks.
Service Interval
- Replace every 100 hours or annually (more often with poor fuel quality or ethanol-blended fuel).
