What The Original Malibu Cover Should Have Been
"I bought my Malibu Response Lxi in 2010 and it came with a factory cover that never seemed to work right. It sagged in multiple places and thereby allowed rainwater to collect on the surface. The weight of the collected water would then make the cover sag more, eventually either causing the rain-soaked cover to collapse inside the boat or allowing the standing water to leak through. Either way, it was effectively useless in a storm event. This cover, while it uses the same basic ratcheting retention mechanism, is correctly designed to form more of a tent shape that eliminates any potential for rainwater to accumulate on the surface. It also includes pockets for the cleats on the side of the boat so that you can attach protection bumpers to the cleats without the line for the bumpers inhibiting the effectiveness of the ratcheting retention system. Last, but not least, the material used for the cover is well worth the price. It has a quality, fit, and finish that is simply exceptional. Far better, to be sure, than the material used on the original factory cover I received. All in all, I am very pleased with this cover and only wish that it was designed like this back in 2010."
